Groups & Events at Junction West Vallecito Resort

Plan a reunion, rally, celebration, or group getaway near Vallecito Lake

Bring the group together without splitting everyone across town. With 100 RV sites, 10 cabins, an indoor Main Hall, and an open-air Pavilion, Junction West Vallecito Resort makes it easy to stay, gather, and explore from one mountain basecamp near Vallecito Lake and about 30 minutes from Durango.

This is the right fit for families, clubs, crews, and celebration groups that want scenery, together time, and simple logistics. It is not built around nightlife, a formal ballroom, or a high-tech conference vibe.

Venue-only rentals are welcome too.

Choose the Kind of Gathering You’re Planning

Help guests self-sort quickly by showing them the paths below.

Family Reunions & Anniversaries

Keep RVs, cabins, grandparents, kids, and lake days in one place. This is ideal for groups that want shared meals, outdoor time, and a comfortable home base under the pines.

RV Clubs & Rallies

Give your club a scenic home base with gravel sites, varied power options by site, overflow parking, and built-in gathering space for meals, announcements, and social time.

Weddings & Milestone Celebrations

Choose tall pines, an open-air pavilion, and a welcoming hall instead of a generic ballroom. Best for relaxed celebrations that feel personal and mountain-set, not formal and downtown.

Athlete Groups & Race Weekends

Stay close to the lake, the dam, and the regional running and cycling culture that brings groups to Southwest Colorado each season. Great for runners, riders, support crews, and early starts.

Motorsport Teams & Crew Stays

Keep the crew together in a quieter mountain setting with cabins, RV sites, overflow parking, and space to regroup after a regional race weekend.

Stay Together, Even If Everyone Travels Differently

Some guests arrive in motorhomes. Some want a cabin with a real bed and kitchen. This section should make that mix feel simple, not complicated.

RV Groups

All RV sites are gravel. Groups can book back-in and pull-through sites, and power varies by site: 30A-only, 50A-only, or 30/50A. Confirm the right mix early if you are placing club members or multiple rigs together.

Cabin Guests

Ten pet-friendly cabins give non-RV guests an easy way to stay close to the group, with kitchens, linens, and the comfort of a cabin after a day on the lake or trail.

Boats, Trailers & Extras

Boat parking may fit at a site or cabin, and overflow parking is available when needed. That makes mixed groups easier to manage when some guests bring lake gear and others do not.

Why Groups Choose Vallecito

The best group venue is not just a room. It is the setting around the room, the ease of lodging, and the feeling people remember once the schedule is over.

Easy Lake & Dam Access

Walk to Vallecito Dam, reach lake access in minutes, and turn open time into fishing, boating, or simple sightseeing without a complicated plan.

Built-In Fun for All Ages

Playground, basketball, horseshoes, the library, open outdoor space, and a communal fire-pit help groups spread out without splitting apart.

Practical On-Site Comforts

The camp market, laundry, showers, ice cream, fishing supplies, firewood, and fresh-water fills for a fee help group weekends run more smoothly.

Quiet Mountain Evenings

This is a better fit for groups who want conversation, stars, and low-key time together after the day’s activities — not downtown noise or an all-night party scene.

Depending on Your Dates, the Calendar May Already Be Helping

Current summer calendars on the resort site show a mix of karaoke, exercise classes, arts and crafts, live music, meetings, and holiday gatherings. That gives reunion groups and seasonal clubs a little built-in life without forcing the whole weekend to revolve around programming.

This section should feel calm, direct, and useful. It helps good-fit planners say yes faster and helps bad-fit groups filter themselves out.

Group Basics

  • Open May 1 through September 30

  • Group camping and group stay options are available
  • No cell signal on property, so guests should turn on Wi-Fi calling

  • Alcohol is allowed
  • Entertainment vendors may be booked, but they bring their own equipment
